Shaquille O'Neal

and the Boys & Girls Clubs of America

Dr. Shaquille O'Neal "Shaq" is a long time supporter of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. Shaquille’s relationship with the group dates back to his youth in Newark, New Jersey and he officially teamed up with them when he was drafted in 1992. He has put on several long-standing events in conjunction with the Boys & Girls Clubs, including Shaq-A-Claus, Shaq's-Giving and Toys for Tots.

Shaquille was kind enough to host the first Red Cape Crew event in Atlanta, Georgia at Georgia Tech University in May, 2014. Dr. Ajamu Banjoko from the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta was also on hand to accept a gift of hundreds of Spalding basketballs. The Red Cape Crew and Shaquille O'Neal delivered the good news in grand fashion. Now thousands of kids will enjoy the game of basketball all summer long because of this donation.

Stay tuned for our next Red Cape Crew event as we strive to lead by example and be a hero to others.
