I honor on this day a man, a soldier, my hero and my uncle that I never met Master Sgt Alfred H. Alonzo, Sr (1922 - 1953). He was MIA for 50 years from the Korean War The soldiers were assigned to the U.S. 8th Cavalry Regiment and attached units (1st Cavalry Division), when their unit came under attack by Chinese forces near Unsan, North Korea on the night of Nov. 1-2, 1950. During the battle, these eight and nearly 400 others from the 8th Cavalry Regiment were declared missing or killed in action. They found the remains and identified my uncle in Dec. 2006 using dental records from my dad his brother its just a shame that my dad was not alive when they finally found his brother my dad died in 2004. Love you Tio my hero thank you.
