Richard 'Mac' Pherson is a hardworking cattle farmer on the unforgiving plains of North Dakota. Through him I've learned stoic discipline, focus in refining one's craft, and most importantly, humor. In my younger years, Dad taught me a new letter of the alphabet (every week!) by enticing me with the "new gadget/same Batman" action figure. This would eventually lead me to comics, which would inspire me to read. When my dad returned home, away from us, he would make it his priority to not only visit, but also retrieve us (an 11 hour labor of love) so we could enjoy fellowship with extended family. I most likely would never have learned how to drive a manual transmission had I not been 12 years old and following behind him in a pickup with my feet barely reaching the pedal. Dad, thank you for the love and respect you show me and for participating in my life. I live to honor you.
